Welcome!

This is a new blog devoted to the culinary trials and experiments at our kitchen in Sautee-Nachoochee, GA.

We like to experiment with different vegetables and fruits. This past year, we were members of a CSA in White County, Cedar Creek Farms.  The Cook family grew a lot of great vegetables and their son had success with his honey bees as well.

We also bought a lot of produce from Sharon Mauney at LoganBerry Heritage Farm.  In the month of July, we bought huge boxes of heirloom tomatoes, I think we froze over 90 pounds total. At the height of tomato season,  we were all growing weary of the work to put them up. Now that its November, I feel pretty smug that we did it though! Our frozen, oven roasted tomatoes are so sweet and taste so much better then the canned variety at the grocery store.
